		En el 2011, comienza el proyecto colaborativo Waorani entre: el investigador Casey High, de la Universidad Goldsmiths de Londres; la investigadora norteamericana Connie Dickinson; y los jóvenes Waorani Ramón Gaba, Jorge Gaba y Oswando Nenquimo, como documentalistas nativos. La meta del proyecto es registrar prácticas culturales que cubran una amplia gama de tópicos y contextos -desde historias tradicionales y rituales, hasta conversaciones cotidianas de la vida diaria-. Otra meta del proyecto es producir una base de datos con un léxico de al menos 6000 palabras y un bosquejo gramatical de la lengua. El proyecto tiene el financiamiento de Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, London por tres años.
		In 2011, the collaborative project Waorani started, involving the researcher Casey High, from Goldsmiths University of London, the north American researcher Connie Dickinson, and the young Waorani Ramón Gaba, Jorge Gaba and Oswando Nenquimo as native documentalists. The main objective of the project is to register cultural practices that cover a broad range of topics and contexts, from rituals and traditional stories to daily life conversations. The project also aims at producing a database including a lexicon of at least 6000 words as well as a grammatical outline of the language. The project will receive funding from the Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, London, for three years.
		In this one hour long video, transcribed and translated into Spanish and English, Wao elders, leaders and community members gather in Yawepare to sing, dance and then discuss issues concerning the Wao nation. We were invited to come and video tape this reunion by Moipa Nihua of Yawepare. Uboye Gaba recorded the gathering. After singing and dancing in the first twenty minutes of the recording, the Wao leaders Pedro and Nanto, speak about several issues concerning the Wao nation primarily: territory, oil exploitation, financing, education, loss of culture and the organization of the Wao. They also discuss the history of the Wao with the Peruvian rubber traders, the Summer Institute of Linguistics and the oil companies and how this has led to the loss of much of their territory. They then discuss what they can do to recuperate and maintain their territory and their way of life.
		En este video de una hora de duración, transcrito y traducido al español e inglés, los ancianos Wao, los líderes y los miembros de la comunidad se reúnen en Yawepare para cantar, bailar y luego discutir temas relacionados con la nación Wao. Fuimos invitados a venir y grabar esta reunión por Moipa Nihua de Yawepare. Uboye Gaba grabó la reunión. Después de cantar y bailar en los primeros veinte minutos, los líderes de Wao, Pedro y Nanto, hablaron sobre varios temas relacionados principalmente con la nación de Wao: territorio, explotación petrolera, financiamiento, educación, pérdida de cultura y la organización del Wao. También discuten la historia del Wao con los comerciantes de caucho peruanos, el Instituto de Lingüística de Verano y las compañías petroleras y cómo esto ha llevado a la pérdida de gran parte de su territorio. 		Wao terero es un idioma sin clasificación hablado por algunos 2,800 Waorani en la area de Amazonia occidental en las provincias de Pastaza, Napo y Orellana de Ecuador.
