Description:This is an audio recording of the transcription of the narrative in session ailot0113, along with the resulting transcription.
This project consists in the documentation of Eibela, also called Aimele (ISO-639 AIL), as part of a PhD project at James Cook University which will ultimately result in a grammar of the language along with a dictionary and a corpus of texts. Eibela is a severely endangered language with 300 speakers in Lake Campbell, Western Province in Papua New Guinea.
The complete hand-written transcription is provided as a scanned pdf of the researcher's field notebook. The audio recordings were made over two days of the discussions had during the translation and transcription of session ailot0113.
Stalone is an Eibela man living in Lake Campbell. Grant Aiton is a PhD researcher transcribing the story in order to research the Eibela language.
