The boy believed what Nang Bya said, entered the room, and searched under the pillow. No matter how much he searched by feeling around, he couldn't find it. The old Kachin houses had no windows, so he searched in the dark. It was a room with no windows and only a door. When the boy entered the room, Nang Bya closed the door with a stick. He trapped the boy inside. The boy cried all day in the dark room. He stayed in the room crying. At night, when it got dark, the boy's family returned. "Why did you make the boy cry?" "Why did you lock him up all day?" they asked. Nang Bya said, "This boy wanted to play a lying game with me." "He said, 'Uncle, let's have a lie-off.'" "So I just lied and locked him up," he said.
