| Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai & Keita Kurabe) I'm going to tell you the story of a rice thief who atoned for his sins by becoming a mother buffalo. Once upon a time, there was a lazy man in a village who never worked. He had no rice, so he always stole rice from other people's granaries. One day, he died. His soul became a mother buffalo and had to atone for his sins. He came to atone for his sins at the houses of the people whose rice he had stolen. He atoned for his sins as a mother buffalo, but one day he grew old and died. The owner of the house put the head of the buffalo at the granary ladder. One day, another man came to the house to steal rice. When he tried to climb up the granary, he accidentally stepped on the buffalo head. The buffalo head that he stepped on spoke to him. "Brother, why have you come to this granary?" The thief replied, "I was hungry, so I came here to steal rice." The buffalo head said, "Don't steal rice!" "Once I was hungry and stole rice too." "But after I died, I became a mother buffalo and had to pay for my sins for the rest of my life." "Don't steal rice!" it replied. When the thief heard the words of the buffalo head, he left without stealing the rice. That's the end of the story.
