Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai & Keita Kurabe) I'm going to tell you about a story about a man with a lump. Many years ago, there was a man who had a big lump on his neck. Whenever he went, he felt embarrassed and saddened by the large lump. He was sad because the lump hung down wherever he went. He wanted to get married, but no woman liked him. He was very sad. One day, when he went to another village, it was already dark. He could not find a place to sleep. So, he decided to stay at a cemetery. That night, when he was lying down, the spirits from the cemetery told him, "Hey, uncle, we'll take the bottle on your neck for tonight." "Let's keep it for a while." They took the lump on his neck. When the man woke up and touched his neck he felt that there was no lump. He was so happy and delighted. Then, he woke up early the next morning and went back to his village. When he returned, he said to the villagers, "The lump on my neck is gone." "This will bring me riches." "And I'll get a wife." He told the villagers so. There was another man in that village who had an even bigger lump than his. The man said, "Even he was cured." "I'll go there myself." But, the villagers cautioned him. "You are not as smart as the man whose lump was healed." "You're not that smart." "So you must not go," they stopped him. But he said, "No, I'll go at any cost," and off he went. "I'll go no matter how far." "Whatever happens, I'll go." "I want my lump healed, too," he said. So he said, and when he arrived there he slept in the same place where the first person slept. Then, in the same way, the spirits came and said to him, "Hey, can we borrow your bottle for a while?" "You won't sleep well with this bottle on your neck." "Please lend it to us." They took his big lump away. When he touched his neck, he felt that there was no lump. He was very happy. In the morning, he was so happy. He said to the spirits, "Thank you, landlords!" "I slept well last night." "Let me go back home now." Then, the spirits said, "Oh, if you are leaving, here, this is your bottle." "You slept well, take it back with you." They put the big lump on his neck again. Not only that, but other spirits also said, "Hey, your friend forgot to take this." They put another lump on the back of his neck. So the man had one lump on the front of his neck, and one on the back of his neck. He returned to his village very sad because he had two lumps now. When he got back, he walked around the village crying. While he was crying, the villagers said to him, "See, we told you." "You can't do anything anymore." "One lump on the front and one on the back." "How do you make a living?" The man said, "Yes, this front lump is mine." "The one in the back is his." "So I'll give it back to him." He went to the first man. He went to the first man and said to him, "Hey, this is your lump, take it away." "Those guys gave this back to me." "Get it as soon as possible." "Otherwise, I cannot do anything." Then the first man said, "Why did you go back for it?" "I left it because I didn't want it, but you brought it back." "Who let you bring it back?" So the man had one lump on the front of his neck and one on the back. He had to live with two lumps for the rest of his life. This is a story told by people in the past. Thank you very much.
