Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) This is about a wasp. This is like that. The wasp sting is really painful. It eats dead things such as humans and animals. One day, a mother put her baby to sleep and went to the field to work. The wasps are active during fall. When the woman heard her baby crying, she went to check on him. However, she found that he had died from wasp bites. She tried to save her baby from the danger of the wasps, but she was too late. Her baby had already died. Then she cursed the wasp, calling out God's name. She said, "They killed my baby! They should not have babies either! May the wasps never have babies!" The wasps usually attacked people after staying in their nests for nine months. They had that kind of habit. Therefore, they didn't survive for more than nine months. During winter, the wasps died. Only the queen survived, laying her eggs in a hollow tree to reproduce. She hibernated in her nest. After nine months, all her babies died. The queen wasp survived by moving her nest from place to place. However, she didn't survive for long. This is about the wasp. Transcription (Lu Awng) Lagat gatchyang a lam. Ma dai gaw ndai hku da.
