Description: | Translation (Sen Pan) The story is about a good man and a wicked man. A long time ago, there were two families; one family was kind, and another was wicked. The wicked family never joined together in every work. But all the family members in the nice family were always one in every aspect. They did hunting for their living. One day, the nice man went hunting. He found a tiger. When he targeted to shoot, the tiger spoke to him. "I also have to feed my children like you. Please don't kill me! Ask anything you want. I will give you," the tiger said. "Take out all the baskets from your house and put them outside of your house. I will come and put the gold," the tiger added. The nice man also agreed and went back home without shooting the tiger. At home, his wife asked, "Why didn't you get any meat?" "I found a tiger, but he told me to take out all the baskets and put them in front of our house," the man replied. All the family members believed him, and everyone followed what he instructed as they always cooperated with each other. And they placed all the baskets they had outside the house. Then they went to bed. The next morning, the father woke up first. When he went and checked the baskets, he saw the baskets were full of gold. They all were so happy. And they became rich. The family also helped needy people. The wicked man came and said, "How do you become a wealthy man?" The nice man replied, "When I was about to shoot a tiger, it told me to put all my baskets outside the house. Since I did as the tiger said, I become a rich man." The wicked man believed in what his friend said and went hunting. He also found the tiger. It also said, "I have many kids to take care of. Please don't kill me! Take out all the baskets you have and place them in front of your house. I will come and put the gold." The wicked man trusted the tiger's word and returned home. When he got home, his wife asked, "Why didn't you get the meat?" The husband replied, "A tiger told me to take out all the baskets and place them in front of our house. It would come and put the gold." But his wife didn't believe his words, and they argued. The wife said, "It's impossible! The gold will not be filled. Only the shits would be there." The husband took out the baskets and placed them in front of the house without letting know others. After that, he went to bed. The next day, the husband found out the baskets were full of tiger's shit. Therefore, they regretted lying to the others and determined not to do like that again. They lived with others by being a good neighbor. That's the end. Transcription (Lu Awng) Ya ngai hkai na maumwi a gabaw gaw myit n kaja ai wa hte myit kaja ai wa a lam re.
