Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The title of the story I'm going to tell is 'The lion who loses his throne and the deer'. Once upon a time, there was a lion. He was the king of all the animals. All the animals had to offer him different animals every day. One day, it was the frog's turn to offer him food. The frog was too scared to go in front of the lion, so he called the lion to come to his place instead. He said, "My king, we have never heard your voice. We would like to hear your voice. So, please come to our place. When you come, we will offer you anything you want to eat." Then the lion went to the place where the frogs lived. The whole area was filled with the frogs' croaking. The frog said to the lion, "My king, we have never heard your voice. We are always croaking loudly. Because we are so noisy, we have never heard your voice. Please roar as loudly as you can. After that, we will offer you anything you want to eat." The lion king said, "Alright." Then he roared with all his strength. At that moment, the frog threw mud into the lion's mouth. The lion was getting so angry and said, "I will kill you!" And he grabbed the frog and threw it away. He jumped to the other side of the water. As he jumped, the frog grabbed the lion's tail and bit off some fur. When the lion landed on the other side of the water, the frog hopped in front of him. At that time, the lion said to the frog, "I will eat you!" The frog said, "My king, don't eat me. Look at this fur. This is the proof that I ate your grandparents." The lion was frightened when he heard what the frog said. He was too scared. All the animals heard what had happened to the lion and decided he no longer deserved the throne, so they made the deer their king. Later, the deer king really wanted to eat figs, so he ordered the tortoise to pick some for him. The tortoise couldn't climb the fig tree to pick the fruit and kept falling. When the other animals heard what the deer had made the tortoise do, they dethroned him.
