Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The title of the story is 'a man and a group of dwarves'. A long time ago, there was a man who wandered everywhere. He didn't know the place he reached. He kept walking and walking. Then, he reached a river. He crossed the river. When he reached the other side of the river, he was exhausted. So, he fell into a deep sleep on the sandy bank. Many hours had passed by. When he woke up, he tried to get up. But he couldn't move at all. He was shocked. He found that his whole body was tied with small ropes. Then, he looked around the surrounding. At that time, he felt itchy. He saw that a tiny little man was walking on his leg. He saw that there were many little men around him. After a few minutes, he fell asleep again. When he woke up, the little men made a place in his ear and were chatting. They went into his ear and asked him, "Where did you come from?" He said, "I am a traveller. I don't know where I head to. In the end, I reach here." They didn't ask him anymore. And they built many carts. They had built many carts in a short time. And they carried him and put him on the carts. They took him to the rock slab. He couldn't sit there and was in trouble. They just put him onto the slab. Those little men had a king who ruled them. They were a kind of tribe. And there was another tribe like them at the other side of the stream. One day, those tiny men talked to him, "A giant man, can you help us? People from the other side of the stream are going to wage war on us." He said, "Okay, I'll help you." Then, the tiny men released him from tying. When he checked the situation, he saw a fleet of tiny ships from the enemies. He waded through the stream and pulled all ships. The tiny men from this side of the stream were pleased with him. They held a huge celebration. Many days later, the tiny men said again, "Please, kill all of our enemies." He said, "I don't want war. I don't like attacking and tormenting each other. When they wage war on you, try your best to defeat them. I will not help anyone." They were mad at him and didn't feed him anything. After few days, he was starving and said to them, "I will fight for you. None of you needs to fight. I'll fight them alone. Just give me some food. I'm starving." After eating some food, he regained his strength. He said that he would attack their enemies and waded through the stream. And he walked away from them and searched for a way to go back home. When he got back to his village, he told the villagers about tiny men whom he met. The villagers were curious and said, "Take us there. We want to see them." Since they requested him, he took them there. But he didn't take the villagers there, in fact, because he was afraid that the tiny men might hurt them. He stopped at a place and lied to them, "Let's wait for the tiny men here. They will come." They kept waiting there and built a village. They farmed there and lived happily as they were waiting to see the tiny men.
