Description:Translation (Mike Tu Awng) There is a bird called peacock. Among Kachin, there is a bird called peacock. In Burmese it is called, 'Daung.' This bird is the king among all birds. If it is a male peacock, it has comb on its head. That comb can be spread like this sometimes. The comb is in red colour and it can be spread and it can be shrunked like this. As its comb is beautiful, its wings are also very large. And, its tail is also beautiful like flowers. If a peacock spreads its wings, it can be very big like this. It can spread it very wide. Because of that the peacock thought too full of itself because of its beauty and it elegance. One day, there was a small bird. Among other birds, the peacock thought it was more beautiful. And the other small birds said to the peacock, "King Peacock, you are the king of birds." "In addition, you are the most beautiful too." They praised the peacock. When other birds praised it, the peacock was very happy and it spread out its wings, comb to show them to other birds. However, the peacock used to eating small birds. It was used to eating small birds and at the moment it grasped one small bird. Then, the small bird said, "Oh king, please don't eat me because you are the king and you are the most beautiful one among all birds. Because of all of this, I give you praise. Please don't eat me." When the small bird said that the peacock let go of it. That is also a way of showing compassion to each other. Transcription (Lu Awng) U tawng ngu nga ai. Anhte jinghpaw ni gaw u tawng nga ai.
