Description: | Translation (Dau Hkawng) Long ago, a child and his grandfather went to work in the fields. When they went to the field every day, his grandfather used to ask his grandson to fetch water from a stream pool near their farm. So, one day, when the boy went to fetch water from the stream pool, the dragon was with a red crest. In that lake, he jumped out of the water, went back into the water, and came back up out of the water. And he dived into the water again. The boy saw the dragon came out of the water and went back in. The boy watched the dragon play in the lake. It took a long time to fetch water. The grandfather considered by himself; his grandson was too late that night. He called his grandson, and when he called, his grandson came back. With that, "Son, why did it take you so long to fetch water today? he asked his grandson. "Oh, my grandpa! I saw the dragon with a red crest was jumped out of the water and re-entered, and jumped out and went back into the lake today,” the grandson replied to his grandfather. “I was late because I was watching such things,” he added. So, the grandfather replied, "Enough, my grandson! enough, don't say that, now, I know it, I know it." The grandfather and his grandson went back home in the evening before it was time to go back. The grandfather and his grandson returned home alone, When everyone was asleep, it was time to go to bed. The grandfather lit a torch when everyone was asleep and went through from the edge to the top of the village. "Everyone in the village! My grandson saw a dragon today, my grandson saw a dragon," the old man shouted along the middle road of the village. From the edge of the village to the top of the village, he yelled from the top to the edge of the village. But others did not wake up and did not know about it while sleeping. One of the very old men split bamboo into thin strips without sleep until after bedtime. Because that the old man was sitting until after bedtime as he split bamboo into thin strips. He heard that the man shout and pass by. And so, the next day, grandfather and his grandson went to a place for volunteer work, where others were working to build a house. When they got there, the old man, who heard the shout that night, said to them. "I do not know who it was at midnight last night. "My grandson saw the dragon today," someone passed by shouting like that," the very old man said. With that, "We did not hear it then, but it was for those who heard it. No one hears us, only those who hear," the rest of them said. So, the next day, the very old man died, who heard the shout of passing by on the street. Therefore, people have to sleep at bedtime and get up in time to get out of bed. Transcription (Lu Hkawng) Moi da, ma langai mi hte shan ji dwi gaw yi hkyen sa ai da.
