Description:Translation (Htoi San) Once upon a time, a young girl and a young boy fell in love with each other, and they were so pretty and handsome. However, they did not get married yet. The girl knew weaving very well, so she always knitted and sewed clothes. The young boy visited his girlfriend and helped her with her daily chores. He helped her to wind wraps for backstrap weaving. One day, a king took a country tour and saw the weaving girl as she was such a pretty girl. The king ordered his servants, "Go and get that girl!" As they loved each other very much, the girl did not agree, and the boy also did not agree. Nevertheless, the king's soldiers dragged the girl forcefully. Although the boy loved and pitied his girlfriend dearly, he had to let go as the soldiers beat her. The two lovers could not get married as the girl had to follow the king to be a queen. The girl got into the palace. The girl was unhappy and wanted to be angry because she had to be the king's wife. Therefore, the queen did not smile for even a day. She did not laugh, although people made her laugh. The king was amazed that she did not smile. The king was surprised and said, "Oh dear! I got her because of her beauty, but she doesn't even smile. She doesn't laugh even though it has been a long time already. Bring all the people who can make jokes from the country." The king ordered, "All the comedians come to the palace and make the queen laugh." He announced, "Whoever can make her laugh, I will give half the country and the throne too." The queen sent a message to her boyfriend. "The king has an order. There will be a festival three years from now on. The king plans this for me to laugh. When the time comes, you come to this event." "When you come, I will greet you with laughter," the queen sent this message to her boyfriend. The boyfriend asked her, "What should I do during these three years?" The queen replied, "You shoot birds and gather all the bird feathers during these three years." "After collecting, you weave those feathers in a loom and make a garment with bird feathers. You wear that garment when you come to me." "Make a garment with various bird feathers and wear that when you come. Then I will laugh when I see you," informed the queen. The queen also informed her boyfriend that she would not chuckle at how much the people made her laugh. The boyfriend also did what his girlfriend messaged him, and he reached the event of making the queen laugh after three years. He was also ready to sew the clothing. He weaved bird feathers and sewed beautifully, then came to the palace wearing that garment. All the comedians from that town arrived at the palace too. The people came to the event as they also could win half the country and the king's place. Some of them made the sounds of cats. Some made dog sounds and walked like a dog. Some acted like monkeys. Even though the people tried to make the queen laugh, she did not even smile. The queen just waited for her boyfriend to come wearing a feathers garment, and she did not show interest to the others. No one could make her laugh. People from all over the country could not create any jokes. In the end, the boyfriend entered the palace wearing a feathers garment. Then he danced for her. He danced in front of the queen, and she showed a smile. The king was pleased, "Now the queen smiles; that is very good. Take out the feathers garment from that man." "I will wear it." The king walked down from his throne, took the feathers garment from the boy, and then danced. When the king danced, the queen did not laugh at all. Moreover, the queen ordered, "Drag out that king! Take him out of the palace!" After that, she gave the throne to her boyfriend.
