Description: Translation (Htoi Awng) I'm going to tell about a very sweet mango. Once upon a time, there was a mango tree near a village. The fruits were very sweet. Kids from the village went there and usually plucked the mangoes to eat. And there was another village near the first village. A man from the second village heard the news about the mango. He went there and fenced the tree. Then, he tied two big dogs to the mango tree. When it was right time to pick the mangoes, the children went there. When they arrived there, they saw the dogs were waiting. The dogs were barking to them continuously. They kept barking. The children were frightened. So, they went back to their houses. The next day, one kid went there again. He brought some meat with him. He fed the meat to the dogs. While the dogs were eating meat, he quickly climbed the mango tree up. He ate lots of mangoes by sitting on the tree. Some time later, the man who fenced the tree came there and said, "Hey! Come down! Why are you doing on my mango tree?" He said like that to the boy. The boy was already full after eating mangoes. But he was pretending to eat mangoes. When the man shouted, the boy pretended to fall down from the tree and to be in a faint. He was just pretending. At that time, an old man who was walking saw them. He said, "Oh, what had happened to this boy?" "He fell down from the mango tree," said the owner of the mango tree. Then, the old man said, "This year, these mangoes have very bitter taste. Maybe, this boy is poisoned after eating this! He had eaten poisonous mangoes!" The owner was shocked and said, "No way! The mangoes are so sweet! How come they have bitter taste and poisonous!?" The old man said, "In the tenth year, the mango tree is bearing the fruits which have bitter taste. This year is the next tenth year of this mango tree. So, it has only bitter taste mangoes." The old man carried the boy and went back to their village. When they went back to the tree the next day, there was no fence around the mango tree. There were no dogs which guarded the tree too. Then, the children could pick the fruits and eat them happily again. We shouldn't be jealous of other people and of the food they had.
