Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Once upon a time, there was a young traveller. While he was travelling, a golden horse went past in front of him. When that golden horse went past, he thought, "Wow! The golden horse I've never seen before went past just in front of me. How lucky I am!" Then he followed it. He ran after it. But he couldn't reach to it. When he kept following it, it went into a deep hole. It went into the pit. Then he waited for the golden horse just by sitting beside the pit. He waited for a long time. But it didn't come out again. He thought to himself, "This is my luck. I shouldn't go back. I will dig here to see the golden horse." Then he started digging the pit where the horse went in. He kept digging the hole. He didn't see the horse no matter how deep he dug. "Anyway, I have to dig until I see. I have already started doing this," he thought. Then he saw that there was only a golden pot inside it. He was curious and opened them. There was water inside the pot. The water was so clean. He thought, "Ohh, it's perfect since I am thirsty." He drank water from that pot. When there was a little water left, he thought to himself, "The water is so clean and tasty too. I will drink all." And he drank all of the water. After drinking water, he set forth his journey. It was getting dark, then he went to one house as a guest and slept there. He said, "Landlord, let me sleep in your house tonight, please. It's getting dark." Then the landlord said, "It's okay." The next day, the houseowner's wife was getting up to cook breakfast. He heard that the lady was getting up. But he was just lying in bed. He didn't get up even though the sun was risen up. He was totally fine last night, he suddenly felt sick to his stomach the next morning. He felt nausea. So, he didn't get up even though the landlady got up. The landlady thought, "Hmmm? Our guest didn't wake up till now. What's wrong with him?" And she walked into the room. She said, "Mr, there are faeces near the blanket." He was pooping in the bed since he didn't feel well. When the landlady said like that, he thought, "Ohh, the lady saw faeces now." So, he wrapped all gold without falling. While the landlady was going back to the kitchen, he folded the blanket and cleaned his faeces. Surprisingly, there was only gold on the blanket where he defecated his faeces. There was gold near his clothes and on the place where he slept. There was gold everywhere. He thought, "Ohhh, something is not right. I should go out before the house family doesn't see me." He collected all that gold and wrapped nicely. Then he quickly went out from that house while the landlady was in the kitchen. Transcription (Lu Hkawng & Gam Yung) Moi shawng de hkrum lam hkawm ai hkrumlam brang langai mi nga ai da.
