Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) The old lady and her grandson got yellow objects while digging yams. The grandson told her, "Grandma, I got only these yellow objects instead of yams." She said, "Let's build the pigsty with those." Then, they built the pigsty by using those objects without knowing they were gold. They made the chicken coops with gold too. One day, he went to the town and met a rich lady. He told her, "I have a lot of those objects you are wearing on your neck. I even built the fence with those things." The lady replied, "If there is a lot, I will go to your village with you and have a look. If you really have those, I will marry you. Can you tell me more about it?" He told her, "We are really poor, so we only eat yams." But she kept saying, "It's okay. If you really have things like my necklace, I will definitely marry you." He said, "I don't even have rice to eat." She said, "Then, let's sell my necklace. I will buy some rice for you. Let's go now." She followed the boy and went to his village. The boy and his grandmother lived in a hut on the outskirts. The lady said, "I will cook some rice for you two." They got married and lived there. The girl told him, "Let's go sell my necklace and buy some food for us." When they sold the necklace, they got a lot of money. The boy was surprised that it was sold at a high price. He told his wife, "Is it that much valuable? I have a lot. I will show you those things." When they arrived home, she saw that there was much gold which was used in building the fence and coops. She told her husband, "Let's sell this gold and build a big new house." They got more gold at the place where they dug the yams. Later, the grandmother passed away. Before she died, she told them, "My grandchildren, I don't have much time to live in this world. So, live happily with your children. May you be prosperous. May you get many blessings." She gave blessings on them. The couple had twelve children. They got rich too. They lived with their twelve children happily and wealthily.
