Description: | Translation (Dau Hkawng) Here is the story I am going to tell, "It was about a poor traveller who cured people with a long-suffering nose." Once upon a time, a man was so poor that he could not even stay in the village, so he set out on a journey. As a heavy smoker, he used to travel and smoke. The man stopped and rested when he reached the desert where there was no water and many rocks, the place called "Tegandara." He was smoking in front of the rock cliff. While he was smoking, an Ogre, who did not like cigar smoke came out of the cave and got angry with him. "Why are you smoking in front of my house and my place?" the Ogre shouted to the poor man. He replied to the Ogre, "Yes, I'm smoking here because I'm so disappointed!" "So", the Ogre said, "What are you frustrated with and what do you want? And just tell me that what you want" the Ogre continued. "Tell me what you want, I will give you all that you want, and after you get, you have to leave from my house and place because I can no longer stand the smell of your cigar smoke," said the Ogre. "I want a magic wand that will make my dreams come true," the poor man pleaded to the Ogre, and the Ogre gave him what he asked. The poor traveler then left at once from that place. While he was traveling, he felt very starving and wished "I'm so hungry." As soon as he wished, the meal was ready. He ate the prepared food and continued his journey. When he got to one of the houses, he was resting for a while and hungry again. So, he wished and ate the food as before. Whenever he was hungry and thirsty, he ate and drank like he used to. So, he came to a Palace. When he reached the Palace, he pleaded to see the King. The King said to the poor traveler, "You could not be accepted in this Palace because you were an ordinary tourist." So, the poor traveler stayed at a widow's house. He kept the red and pink flowers in the widow's house that he had brought with him when he traveled. He used to go for a walk every morning and just stared and looked around at the Palace. He used to look around and went back, and every morning he went to see how the Palace was. The very next morning, he looked around the Palace and threw the pink flowers into the Palace. As a result, all the people in the Palace began to grow and long their noses. The King said, "If all the noses of the people in this Palace became long, the child of the future would also have a long nose." He gave an order to find someone to cure them. Then, one of the King's servants was striking of a Gong and announced throughout the city to find a healer. Even though he announced that if anyone could cure the long nose of the people in the Palace, he would marry the Princess, but no one came out. There was no healer, so the King's servant had the striking of a Gong and announced every day and morning. The poor traveler heard about it and went for treatment. Still, he did not treat it to become the original nose because he was not sure what he would get back from the King after treatment as usual. The King became restless and promised to the poor traveler, "I will allow marrying my daughter and half of the palace. After that, the poor traveler told him to look at the Princess first. When he saw how beautiful the Princess was, he fell in love with her and spread the red flowers all over the Palace. After flowers were scattered all over the Palace, the noses of everyone in the Palace returned to normal. A poor traveler treated their nose to normal and married a Princess. Moreover, he got half of the Palace, became the King of half of the country, and lived happily ever after. Dai nlung shawng kaw shi salik wa lu taw ai da, wa lu taw ai shaloi nlung gu shawng kaw salik lu she dai salik sama nra na (balu) wa gaw pru wa di na shi hpe wa pawt ai da. Hpa majaw i ngai na ndai nta shawng kaw nlung gu shawng kaw hpa na salik taw rai ngu tsun ai dai shaloi ngai grai myit htum na re, ngai grai myit htum na ndai kaw wa lu taw re ngu dai hku tsun shaloi nang hpa ni myit htum ai rai, nang ra ai hpa tim tsun u.
