Description:Translation (Gun Mai) Many years ago, there was a man who had three wives. He married one and another one and then another one up to three wives. The first wife is called Num Dung, the second wife is called Lashi and the third wife is called Labai. The three wives had been continuously arguing among them. They argued with each other day and night the whole time, so the man was quite despressed. He was very despressed and he thought to himself that "what should I do? They do not learn anything how much I teach them. They do not listen to whatever I say to them. What happens to them? I think I should go and ask advice from any wise man". Then, he left. When he got to another village, there was a man who used to predict correct things and he met with him. The man who could predict the correct things said to the man that "Among your three wives, one is human. One is a dog and one is a cat". "That's why they are not harmony each other". "One is the cat who is covered with a human feature and another one is the dog who is covered with a human feature. Only one wife is real human" said the man who could predict the correct things. The man replied that "Then, what should I do? How should I divorce them? I don't want anymore the two wives those who are dog and cat". The other man asked that "Don't you believe? Do you want to see about your three wives: which one is the dog, which one is the cat?" and the man answered, "Yes, I want to see". So, the other man gave a feather of a white eagle and said that "Look your wives with this white eagle's feather and you will know who is the cat and who is the dog". Then, when the man actually looked at his wives with the white eagle's feather, the first wife was a human. The second wife, Lashi, was a dog. If there were only the dog and the human separately, they did not argue much. They argued a lot when all the three wives together. Lashi one is the dog and Labai one is the cat. When the man met with the other man, he said that "I don't want my wives anymore. What should I do?". The man who gave the white eagle's feather suggested that "So, let your all three wives go back to their respective parents' home for about three years and ask to come back to you after three years". "If you tell them so, finally, only one who come back loyally to you is your wife". Therefore, as the other man suggested, he said to his three wives that "Since you all have been arguing a lot, you go back to your respective home". "Just come back to me after three years," said the man. So, the three wives went back to their respective parents' homes. Because Lashi and Labai were quite flirt, the dog one who was covered with human feature also got another husband. The cat one who was covered with human feature also got another husband. The first wife, the real human, was loyal to her husband and did not marry another man. She dignifiedly lived with her parents and he returned to her husband after three years. The other two wives did not return to the man. Because they have got other husbands and only the first wife returned to her husband. The man also lived happily the rest of his life with the wife who returned to him. The end. Transcription (Lu Awng) Moi da la langai mi gaw da madu jan 3 lu ai da.
