Description: | Translation (Gun Mai) It is about a little frog. Once upon a time, there was a little frog. The frog was living in a lake. The frog was getting mature and the time to get married. but he only wanted to marry with human and did not know what to do. And, there was a king who has three daughters. Since there were three daughters, the frog went to ask for marrying. So, the frog went to the place of the King and knocked at the door. When the king opened the gate, he did not see anyone. So, he closed the gate. The frog knocked again on the gate and called 'Anyone home'. So, the king opened again but did not see anyone. The king only saw a horse because the frog came with the horse. So, the king only saw the horse but did not see any person. When the frog knocked the third time, the king opened again the gate but this time, he saw the little frog at the gate. The frog said to the King that "I am here to ask to marry your daughter". Then, the King said that "You are such a frog, how it can be?" The King continued that "You said you want to marry my daughter. I can't let marry my daughter no matter what happens". The frog said that "I can make whatever you ask me to do, the King". But, the King said that it was impossible to marry my daughter. The frog said that "Then, I will smile for you". When the frog smiled, the sun was immediately getting shine and very hot. Since the sun was very hot because of the frog's smile, the King said that "Enough! Enough! So, could you cry for me?" When the frog cried, the storm and heavy rain including hail were hit immediately. Then, the King said that "OK! I will let you marry my daughter" and he called his first daughter, Ma Kaw. The King said to his daughter that "You marry with this frog?". His first daughter, Ma Kaw replied that "No, I don't want to marry him because he is just a frog". Then, the King asked his second daughter, Ma Lu, "You marry with the frog?". Ma Lu also said that "No, I don't want to marry the frog". Again, he asked his third daughter, Ma Roi to marry the frog. Then, Ma Roi replied that "Father, let me think about it". So, the father said to the frog that "If you surely love and want to marry my third daughter, Ma Roi, you have to bring firewoods for me to use during this coming monsoon season". When the King said like that, the frog just brought a lot of firewoods within one night. Then, the frog said that "It is finished now, the King". The King said again to the frog that "Then, please work for me in the paddy field for this year". So, the frog just worked in the paddy field for that year. Because of the efforts of the frog, the King got a lot of rice that year. So, the third daughter, Ma Roi thought to herself that "The frog is really hard working for my father. So, I am going to marry" and she married the frog. So, the frog was really happy and he let his wife rode on the horse and returned to his home. And, the couple lived happily. The frog really loved his wife and while they were living happily, a war broke out in the place of the King, the father of the frog's wife. So, the frog went to help the King, and therefore, they won the war. Later, it was the time that the frog was going to transform into a human in seven days. At that time, when the frog lived with his wife at night, he lived as a human. The frog was very handsome when he transformed into a human at night but during day time, he turned into a frog. And so, when the frog was sleeping at night as a human, the wife secretly burned the skin that the frog removed when he transformed into a human. It was only seven days for the frog to be human when his wife burned the skin. Because the wife burned the skin earlier than it should be, therefore, the frog never becomes human and it is just a frog until today.
