Description: Translation (Htoi Awng) The story I am going to tell is about the greediness. Long time ago, there was a greedy man at the pleasant highland of Wunpawng where Kachin lived. He saw that there was a thanksgiving ceremony and came there by car. He saw that it was such a pleasant land. He wanted to colonize our land. So, he started cutting the bamboos and trees down, and sold them. He not only cut the woods but also did blast fishing. And he sold the fish in the city. When he caught the animals alive, he sold them in the city where he could get the higher price. He got rich. Then, he started building very beautiful houses and stayed on this pleasant land. The water and the natural resources were destroyed by the greedy man. The native people got sick very often. In the past, the water was clean and fresh enough to drink. Since the greedy man lived here, the water was dirty because of him. The villagers couldn't drink it anymore. They had to go to far places to get the drinking water. There weren't many trees too. By that way, the native people got sick very often and had to go to the hospital in their diffculties. One day, there was a storm in their village. The storm destroyed everything. The village was destroyed seriously since there weren't many trees which would protect the storm. Then, the greedy man searched another pleasant places. After that, he moved to another place. Some people which still lived in the village died. One of the boys was very sad about his land. He was depressed. And then, he talked with the animals which were still alive. They discussed, "How can we keep and grow our land to be pleasnat like before?" At that time, the birds carried the seeds. Then, the squirrels grew those seeds. The monkeys watered on those seeds. The frogs screamed to call the rain. Then, those seeds had beautifully sprouted. After some time, it grew very beautifully. Since then, because of the boy and all help, the land changed into the pleasant land like before. There were many animals too. And the boy had rebuilt the houses and the places in the village to be nice and pleasant. So, we shouldn't be greedy. We should live our lives with a beautiful and righteous mind.
