Description:Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Now, I'd like to tell you a story to remind your next generations not to make the same mistake and to do good. This happened not long ago. It happened only ten years ago in Lawa village, Hugawng. A daughter-in-law cooked for her mother-in-law. However, she fed her mother-in-law cow dung as a curry. She didn't clean the chicken's giblets, and she just cooked for her. One day, she lied to her mother-in-law and fed her dried quince. However, she told her, "This is jungle fowl meat." When her son came back, the old mother told him, "Jungle fowl meat is really sour." The son asked her, "What did you eat for your breakfast?" She answered, "Jungle fowl meat. It's really sour. Look at this." It was actually dried quince. He felt really sorry. However, he couldn't say anything to his wife because she was mean. Later, the mean daughter-in-law cooked leech and fed it to her mother-in-law. She told her, "This is chicken intestines." When the mother-in-law ate it, she couldn't chew it because it was really hard. When her son came back, she showed it to him. In fact, it was a leech. Later, there was thunder and lightning in their village. The thunder hit the daughter-in-law, who was sitting in the living room. So we should treat our elders with respect. We should treat our parents, parents-in-law, and elders with respect. I'd like to remind you not to act like her.
