Description: | Translation (Seng Pan) At one time, there was a man who washed the clothes for a living in a country. Every day, he washed the clothes in several houses in his town. One day, he adopted a dog. And he also had a horse. Every day, the men went out by riding a horse to wash the clothes in the houses. After he had left, the dog guarded the house for the whole day. When somebody appeared near the house, the house barked badly. And it was aggressive. So, no one dared to enter the house. With the help of a dog and a horse, the man lived happily. He had the dog to guard his house and the house to ride when he went to the houses around the town. Day by day, he could make a good amount of money from washing clothes. When everyone in the town heard that the clothes the man washed were so clean, he was called on by many rich families. As he became wealthier, he turned into an arrogant man. And he didn't give attention and take care of the dog and horse like before. The man and his wife didn't cook the food at home frequently. And they ate out in the good restaurants. The man lost his affection for the dog and horse. He also swore at them badly. And the couple didn't feed them. So, after several days, the dog hadn't left much energy and couldn't even get up. It became a skinny dog. In the dog's mind, it also swore them back. One night, the couple came back from a night out. They were a bit tipsy and teased each other in bed. They didn't sleep till it's quite late. When they fell asleep, they slept like a dead person. Soon after the couple fell asleep, the doors were knocked on, and it made a loud noise. At that time, the horse was in the stable, and it also heard the noise. Before, the dog barked when it saw someone or heard a noise. However, the dog didn't make any barking that night. Therefore, the horse walked to the dog and said, "Why don't you bark? It's your responsibility. Like mine is to carry the things. You betray your master." The dog replied, "No, I don't want to bark. They don't even care about me anymore. Let it be!" And it kept silent. However, the poor horse couldn't just stand and watch it. So, it ran around the house and made noise. It intended to wake the master up. It also knocked the wall with its body. The thieves also walked into the house. The horse made a loud noise since it worried that they would find their master and killed him. Suddenly, the man got up in anger since the noise woke him up while sleeping deeply. He took a sword which was hung on the wall and ran to the horse. He cut his obedient horse in half with the sword. The man checked around the house in the morning and found out that the horse made a noise since the thieves walked into his house. He realized that without analyzing the facts, he had stupidly killed the clever horse who helped him carry the things. Therefore, we need to think carefully before we take action. We will make mistakes if we don't consider and analyze the facts well. This story gives us a lesson that we always should think before we speak and do actions.
