Description:Translation (Gun Mai) The story that I am telling is about a guess container. Long long ago, there was a village which had a lot of households. In the village, a man and a woman married and lived as one of the households of the village. The wife was an energetic woman and she used to visit other houses and talked. One evening, when she visited a house, she saw that the head of the household of the house where she visited brought a lot of money. Then, she returned home and said to her husband that "Husband, the other people went for trading and returned with a lot of money. You also should go to trade instead of just staying at home." Then, the husband said that "OK, I will go to trade tomorrow. Please prepare rice, salt, chili, clothes, blanket, and everything for me." The next morning, after eating, the wife put rice, salt, chili, various food, and clothes in the basket and prepared it for her husband to go to trade. So, he went to the stream and when he got to the stream, he had no way to continue so the man went upstream. When it was lunchtime, the man was hungry. So, when he got to a place, he cleared the bush and put down his basket, and cooked the food. After the man cooked and eat food, it got dark so the man was scared to sleep there. So, he returned home. He secretly returned home where his wife and his son were living. There was an attached room called Shingrep in the big house in the past. The attached room was not inside the house. The man was hiding and sleeping in the attached room. When he was hiding in the attached room, at the midnight, the wild cat came to his house and caught a chicken. The wife and the son heard about the wild cat caught the chicken and threw the wild cat with fire brands so the wild cat released the chicken. Then, they took the chicken and asked the son to grill the chicken. The man was just hiding in the attached room and was listening to what his wife and his son said. The woman said to her son that "Son, put salt on a chicken drumstick and grill it for your father. Let eat it when your father comes back." The next morning, the man came out from the attached room and went again to the place where he cooked and ate food. Since the man was doing nothing, there was a tree called Maling Hpun Hpun Htaw Hpun and the man was slicing and polishing the tree. And, he also cut Kahtan bamboo and polished it. When it got dark, he returned home and slept. He went back again to his place in the morning. He was doing so until he ate all the food that he brought. He made balls from the tree and put them in the bamboo container. And, he was just shaking the bamboo. When he left nothing to eat, without doing any trade, he returned home. When he got home, the wife said that "Husband, have you returned home?" The wife thought that her husband had successful trading so she served her husband with alcohol that was made of fermented rice. But, the wife forgot to give the drumstick that was left for her husband. Then, the husband took out his bamboo container and shook it, and said that "Wife, you have a grilled drumstick that was left for me. Isn't it?" "Ah... husband, yes, we have a drumstick that we left for you. Very good guess," the wife said and gave the drumstick to her husband. The husband ate it well with alcohol. As the wife used to wander the neighbouring, she went to the neighbouring and talked that "My husband went to trade and returned home with a container that can guess things correctly. Although I hang the chicken that was caught by the wild cat for him, I forgot to give him but he guessed correctly by shaking his container. And, the king said to the man that "Man, guess tomorrow morning about who stole the gold jar and silver jar. If you can find the jars, I will give you half of the gold jar and half of the silver jar." But, the man actually could not guess anything. So, he could not sleep. As it was also hot, he went out to the balcony. After he came out to the balcony, he looked outside of the building and went there slowly. There was a big banyan tree and it was easy to climb up. Since the man also could not sleep, he climbed the banyan tree to get fresh wind. When he got on the banyan tree, the man saw that there were an old man and an old woman under the banyan tree who stole the gold jar and silver jar of the king. The old man and old woman were talking that "Where should we bury the gold jar?" "Bury it at the downstream side of the banyan tree." "Where to bury the silver jar?" "Bury it in the upstream side of the banyan tree." The old couple was talking so. Thus, the man was happy to hear about that and was just silently staying on the tree. Then, the old man and the old women buried the jars under the tree and left. After they buried the jars, the man also said to himself that "Very good. I am happy now." So, he came down from the banyan tree and slept well because he felt happy now. When he was sleeping well, "Hi man who has the guess container, wake up now. Let's eat food. It is time to guess who stole the jars of the king," the man was called. The man lazily woke up and ate food. After eating food, the man said that "Let's go and guess now." The man came out from the building. A lot of gentlemen were invited to see how the man would guess. The man actually did not know how to guess but he had already seen it last night. Then, the man shook the container, 'ru ru ru ru di, ru ru ru di, ru ru ru ru di.' In the beginning, the man said that "Hmm....it seems difficult to guess. It seems I might not able to find." Before that, they were very poor but they became very rich since that day. This story is about the husband listened to what the wife said and the wife also listened to what the husband said.
