Description:Translation (Gun Mai) The story that I am going to tell you now is about an old couple was entrusted a gold jar and a silver jar but told them the gold and silver jars as fermented pork. Long long ago in a village, there was an old couple who had a gold jar and a silver jar. The old couple did not have a child. "Since we are planning to go to the land of Mayu (the place where the parents of the wife live), where should we hide these gold and silver jars?" they thought. But, they did not hide anywhere and they went to one of their neighbours and said that "Hi friend, I want to request you to keep these our jars. (But, they did not say it was gold and silver jars and they lied the jars as fermented pork.) We would like to entrust these fermented pork jars. After we go and come back from the land of Mayu, we will take back our fermented pork. When we take it back, we will also share the fermented pork as a gift." They entrusted their gold and silver jars to their neighbour but lied to them as fermented pork jars. But, one day, the couple who was entrusted the jars that were told as fermented pork had nothing to eat the curry when they were having food. So, the wife said to the husband that "Husband, let's take the fermented pork out and eat it. We will kill our pig and make it fermented pork again for them." Then, the husband said that "No, don't do like that. We should not take it out and eat what we were entrusted by others." Do not take it out." The husband said so. But, the wife kept saying that "Husband, let's eat it. We also have a pig. We can make fermented pork again with our pig and refill it again." Since the wife had been saying everything, one day, the husband said that "OK, let's take the fermented pork out and eat it. We will refill after we kill the pig and make fermented pork." When they opened the jars, it was gold and silver jars. So, they were greedy and said that "These gold and silver jars are ours now." Then, they hid the gold and silver jars. Then, they killed their pig and made fermented pork and put it in the jars. When the old couple who entrusted the jars came back from the land of Mayu, they said to the neighbour couple that "Can we take back the jars with fermented pork that we entrusted you?" The neighbour couple said that "Yes, take it back," and they gave the old couple the jars with the fermented pork that they made and put. When the old couple got home and opened the jars, it was with the fermented pork and it was not any more gold and silver jars. So, the old husband said to his wife that "Wife, see! I already told you just to hide somewhere but you said to entrust the jars to others. What can we do now?" So, they went to the neighbour couple and said that "Our jars were gold and silver jars. How it became the fermented pork?" The neighbour couple said that "You two said that you wanted us to keep your fermented pork. It is fermented pork." And, they did not want to give the gold and silver jar back to the old couple. The two couples had been arguing and finally, they got to court. How the court decided was that a big tree was made a hole and a man was asked to stay inside the tree along with a pencil and paper. The man was told that "Please note what the two couples are talking about." Then, the judge said that "Now, the old couple who said the jars were with fermented pork to carry this tree." The tree was very heavy because there was also a man inside the tree. When the couple was carrying the tree, they talked to each other. The husband said that "I can't carry this tree anymore. I already told you to hide our gold and silver jars in the forest but you said to entrust the neighbour couple. Now we lost both gold and silver jars. Also need to carry this tree now." The man who was secretly staying inside the tree noted what the old couple said and when the old couple finished carrying the tree, the man reported to the judge what he noted. Then, the judge said again that "OK, now it is the time for the other couple to carry the tree again." The wife could not carry the tree. The husband also could not carry the tree anymore. So, he said to his wife that "Wife, you are the one who said to take fermented pork out and eat it and to refill with our pig. But, we also have to carry such a heavy thing. You hid the gold and silver jars and filled the fermented pork that was made with our pig. We are in trouble. It is your fault." They carried the tree and argued with each other so. The man who was secretly staying inside the tree noted what the couple said. The man noted that the couple opened the jar as they understood it was fermented pork but when they realized that it was gold and silver jars, they hid it and replaced it with the fermented pork that was made of their pig. The husband told the wife not to do so but the wife did not listen to what the husband said. So, it ended up so. Then, the judge said that "So, it is true now that the gold and silver jars were entrusted as fermented pork." And, the judge told the couple to take gold and silver jars out from where they hid. Thus, the couple returned the gold and silver jars to its owner, the old couple. What the story meant was that 'The one too knowledge makes eat and also the one too knowledge makes debt'. The wife said to take fermented pork out and refill with their pig but the couple lost both the fermented pork and gold and silver jars. They also had to carry the heavy tree. Because of the wife's foolish action, they lost their pig. The story is ended here. Thank you very much.
