Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Once upon a time. there was an old couple who didn't have any children. One day, they were chatting. "We are getting older and older. And we don't have anyone to take care of us." They were sad. At that time, a fairy came down from the heaven. The fairy said to the old couple, "Grandpa and grandma, don't worry a bit. You two will be rich one day." After saying like that, she disappeared. The next day, while the old man was looking at the sky, a strange thing fell from the sky. It was like fire. It fell right in his field. So, he quickly went there and looked at it. But, he didn't see any fire. Then, he covered that place with his cloth. And he went into his house. He saw that there was a young man in his house. The next morning, the old man said to his wife in front of the young man, "Let's go and check the strange thing that fell from the sky. It might be something strange." When they reached there, they saw that some parts of his cloth were even in the ground. The old man said to the young man, "However, let's dig! If we see any valuable objects, let's divide and share exactly." Then, he said, "Okay." When they kept digging in, they saw that there was a gold pot. But the young man didn't want to keep his promise to divide the gold. He wanted to have the gold pot on his own. As soon as he found it, he took it and quickly ran away. The old couple chased him when he ran away. But he was much faster than the old couple. He felt insecure. He ate his meal quickly and put the gold pot beside him even when he slept. He hid that pot. When the old couple came into his room, he pretended to be asleep. He was pretending like he fell asleep soundly. The old couple said, "He is sleeping now. Let's talk to him tomorrow then." The young man was wishing, "Just be morning quickly. Let the sun rise as soon as it can." The next early morning, he was about to run away by taking that gold pot before the old couple got up. At that time, he opened the lid of the gold pot. But there was no gold inside it. There was only water! He was so shocked! He said, "What I took is the pot filled with gold. What had happened?" Then he threw all of the water out of the pot. Not so long, the old couple followed him. Then, he ran away quickly. Surprisingly, all water he threw just now became gold. The old couple saw that gold and said, "Why did he throw that gold on the ground?" They picked them up and followed the young man. They called him to give that gold. But the young man thought the old grandpa and grandma would kill him. So, he kept running away. The old couple couldn't make after him. At last, the old couple got the gold pot and lived happily ever after. If someone has bad mindset towards the other and wants to monopolize, he or she will face only failure.
