Description:Translation (Htoi San) I am telling a story about a calf, a cow, and a frog. Here is from the Kachin proverb 'A frog in the footprint of a cow.' One day in the puddle, a mother frog laid eggs in a spoor where a cow pounced on the ground, and it appeared hollow. She bore many children, but they could not find food for themselves. So she went outside to find food for her froglets. One day, while the mother frog went outside, a cow came into the puddle. That cow played in that mud with its whole body dipped inside the water; it pressed and killed some of the tadpoles. After she came home, the froglets told their mother, "Mother, a giant cow came and stepped forcibly on some of our siblings, and they died. That huge cow came to play in the puddle, pressed on some of our siblings, then killed them." Mother frog was furious and sad, "How big was that cow?" Her kids answered, "Don't say, mom, it was tremendous." "How big was it?" Mother asked. The kids replied, "Mom, it was massive." Mother kept on asking, "How huge was that?" Her children said, "It was quite large and cannot be measurable." "How could it not be measurable, and how giant was it?" Mother asked the froglets, and she showed her belly bigger, "This much?" "Not that much. It was bigger than that." "Was it this much?" Then the mother frog made her belly bigger and asked. "Mom, not that much. More than that," her children replied. "Was it this much?" "Not that big. It was much larger than that." Mother frog jumped on a tree and sat on a stump. Then she swelled her skin bigger and said, "This huge?" The kids answered, "Mom, it was bigger than you showed." Then she made her belly much more significant, "This much?" She asked with her anger, and her bowels burst out with the sound "Hpak," after that, she died. Therefore, older people taught us not to be angry with this story when we were young.
