Description: | Translation (Rita Seng Mai) Today is 15 January, 2017. The story I am going to tell you is about an orphan. Once upon a time, there were a mother and her fatherless child in a village. They were poor. But the mother raised her son as she could. There was a fishing day in their village. All the villagers caught the fish on that day. Then, she and her son went there too. The boy could catch a lot of big fish. His mother couldn't catch any big fish since she was weak. She was catching fish while carrying an old basket. She was catching only small fish. The boy thought, "I will give the big fish I got to my mom." When he looked at his mother, she was the ugliest and most pitiful among other mothers. So, he didn't want to give his fish. He was afraid that other people might notice she was his mother. He put the fish into the rich women's baskets. When it was dark, he and his mother came back home. His mother saw that he was giving his fish to other people. But she didn't say anything to him. She just kept silent because she loved her son very much. After taking a shower, he went to some villagers' houses where he gave the fish. He wondered who might feed him, but no one welcomed him or fed him. He was starving. In the end, he went back home. He didn't dare go inside and face his mother. The mother saw him standing outside the house and said, "My son, where are you going? I have cooked the fish I got today. I have been waiting for you to eat the meal together. Come in." He was upset hearing his mother say that. He regretted his action. His mother cooked the small fish she got for him and was waiting for him to eat the meal together. A mother's love can't be irreplaceable. They ate the meal together. After eating the meal, he apologized to his mother. A mother's love is greater than anything. There is no one who can love you more than your mother. This is the message of this story. Thank you.
