Description: | One recodring in which Mr. Yar Yam and Mr. Yar Kyi narrate a writing story in the Yasawa variety of Tangsa. This consists of 1 sound file: nst-ras_201412_06_LS_Yasawa_WritingStory The details of this recording are as follows: nst-ras_201412_06_LS_Yasawa_WritingStory; Duration 5’12, Story, 2’37” We Naga people, why do wenot have knowledge and literature? When we were derived as human beings, our forefathers gave leather with written literature to the elder son, because he was elder. For the younger son, he got literature which was written on bamboo (cup). 3’15” After getting that bamboo cup the younger one went downstream and the place where he went was a good place (a place which is good for cultivation, fertile land). Because it is written on bamboo, it could not be eaten. 3’40” Since it was a fertile land he also didn’t need to eat that bamboo cup, so they kept their literature, and became civilised. Those who are living in the downstream side, they have literature and are enlightened. 3’56” Why do we Naga not have writing? It was not given by the parents, but it was given. 4’07” Since their place is not such a good place (for farming), they ate that leather, 4’20” They cooked it and ate it, that’s why we Naga do not have literature.4’30” Discussion with La Seng – he asked for the name of the story, the title is ‘why we Naga don’t have writing’ 4’46”: Gives the name of the story in Raqsa language | |
