Wanglung briefly summarised what was said as follows: “He could not verify from where we came, but at one point almost all the Nagas from the Northeast gathered at one particular hill called Makoi Shingra Pum. From there the Lungphi and Mueshaung climbed down from one side, and the rest of the Nagas climbed down from the other side. From there they landed in a valley that is called Noinan Tan. There they stayed for three years and since it was a valley and no fresh air could be obtained so due to the suffocating atmosphere the people would get very sick and many died, so again they went back to Makoi Shingra Pum. From there again hunters were searching for a way – asking themselves “from which side are we to go?” One hunter was named Taidung; he found out one way where boars and wild animals were passing through. Following that path he found the Tanai Wakrap. After crossing that river they landed in a hill call Lungwukhuiuq Hill. That mountain was very high and from there they could see the direction to which side it is suitable to go. In that mountain they stayed for around four generations. From there again they climbed down and reached and settled in a place called Limkal. They were there for some years (the time is not recorded) and then they shifted to Tangkau and then to Phung Abaw. From there they came to India. (In Wanglung’s opinion there was one portion left out of this story, namely that the people stayed at one time and Mungkhom, where they fought with the Sham people – this episode of history is recorded and sung in the Wihu song). Also recorded on video as nst-mos_20130218_01_SM_JVC_Tangthan_History.mp4 and nst-mos_20130218_02_SM_JVC_Tangthan_History.mp4 | |
