He tells how there are 3 families of Chamkok who have come from Burma to Mullong. The names of these families are Yopon, Dokwa and Rotum. Shimyong came to Mullong when his daughter married Nawang Champang’s father. The meaning of Chamkok is also explained in this text. Once upon a time there was a place which was only rock. There was a bird staying there and when the Chamkok came there, they did not catch this bird because they slept there (kok ‘sleep’). Consequently, because they slept in that place and did not get that bird, they are known as Chamkok.
