Description:		Farewell letter from Count Zinzendorf of Hernnhut written to the slaves of St. Thomas at the end of his three-week visit to St. Thomas in 1739. It is most likely that one of the white people on St. Thomas (perhaps Carstens, with whom ZInzendorf stayed during his visit) wrote the letter for Count Zinzendorf (who may have dictated the letter) in the Creole language (Stein 1986). It was published in the Büdingische Sammlung (1742, vol. I, p.453-457), a collection of writings from Zinzendorf and from the community of the Moravian Brethren (Stein 1986).
