Coverage:Nepal
Eastern Nepal
Description:The dead person, Vale, had died at the Sunsari district but his final death ritual performance is performed at his ritual home at the Diblung-8, Khuksithong, Nigalbas, Khotang Nepal, because every ritual should be performed in the ritual home, where there is the suptulung, i.e. hearthstone. The Dowʌ (priest) recites, chants and trembles, as he beats the buluken (bronze bowl) continuously. He guides away the dead person's soul and eventually performs the yari, i.e. a divination to get knowledge about the dead soul. A cock is sacrificed as part of the ritual procedure.
