Description: | This story explains why the sandfish is flat. The men made a garamut drum in the bush. When the garamut was finished, they needed three strong men to carry it. They found two strong men to hold each end, but they needed an exceptionally strong man to hold the middle. The went and got Sandfish, who lived on the coast. The two other men held either end of the garamut, and he held the middle. They carried it and carried it and the two men became tired. They let go of the garamut and it fell down on Sandfish and crushed him. Today, Sandfish is very flat and is ashamed of his appearance. He runs away and hides in the sand when someone approaches. | |
