| Description: | This is one in a series of video files that were shot during a communal meeting held in front of the chief's palace in Ajumbu. This meeting was organized (by both researchers and local community elders) in order to start gathering some Ajumbu ethnohistorical information and samples of local verbal art performances. In this very video, Sah Nicholas (an old, blind, but very active and respected Ajumbu man) is asked to start talking about the history of Ajumbu but refuses to start until the "white man" films the house of Ntshuin, that is, the house where the chiefly power resides. He was not prepared to this task and is slightly upset he is not wearing his traditional gown: this makes him feel like a "stranger". | |
