| Description: | Ram sacrifice at Gbadzeme chief oath swearing. The new chief of Gbadzeme (one of the other Avatime villages) came to swear fealty to the paramount chief of Avatime in Vane. As part of this ceremony (and all ones like it, such as the outdooring of chiefs) they sacrifice two white rams. This is the first of these sacrifices during this ceremony. The prayers around the sacrifice are all said in Avatime. The traditional priest of Vane says the prayers. Some men, unfortunately I don't know their names kill the ram. The chief and linguist of Gbadzeme are present (under the umbrella). Many spectators were present. Saskia filmed it. | |
