Description:		This is a thirty minute video recording, transcribed and translated into Spanish. Samuel Añapa interviews a Chachi shaman, Pedro Tenorio concerning various illnesses and their cure. Pedro Tenorio trained with various older Chachi shamans and has also studied extensively with the Tsachi 'pone' Eduardo Calazacón. Among the illnesses discussed are stomachaches, headaches, eplepsy and children's failure to thrive. The illnesses are derived from various spirits that reside in nature such as rocks, the rainbow and in the forest as well as curses sent by other shamans. The illnesses are cured with ceremonies which also include herbal remedies and baths.
