Description: | The story of a sick man who is abandoned by his wife and left to fend for himself with only his daughter to care for him. He is threatened from being eaten by marauding vultures but is eventually found by the ishpifafo, the vulture people, who cure him with their miraculous healing powers and in the process they peel off both his skin and that of his daughter. The man then takes his daughter back to his old village where he pretends that he is still ill and retains his old skin. One of his relatives tries to heal him but with no success as he was simply sucking at his old skin. Eventually they realise that he is fit and strong and the man marries his relative's two daughters while the relative marries the man's daughter. | |
