Description:Two stories from Amenafa, one of the eldest men in the village that describe his encounters with forest spirits. In the first he was making a canoe in the rain, this took place in their current village sometime after 1995. He was startled by a tonchi (spirit) whose sheer presence almost made him faint but instead of running away he pulled down his trousers to show the tonchi his backside, it worked and he escaped. In the second story which took place before 1st contact Amenafa was sleeping in his hammock when he suddenly found himself in his hammock but lying on the edge of a cliff, the tonchi had dragged him there!
