Description:		This is a 32 minute video recording, transcribed and translated into Spanish and English. Residents of Cafetal, a Chachi community, discuss various community issues including education and in particular enrollment of the students and the unequal treatment of female students; problems in getting attention and help from various authorities; the need to build a road into the community. The video was produced during a preliminary exploratory visit to the Chachi community of Cafetal. Simeon Floyd, Connie Dickinson and two Tsachi men, Alfonso Aguavil and Francisco Alopi were participants in this field trip. We were taken to Cafetal by Pedro Añapa, a native of Cafetal who was at this time working for Francisco Alopi in the Tsachi community of Congoma.
