| Description: | Ésta es la introducción a la colección. Estamos en la cocina de Dora Manchado, después de almorzar tomando un té. Dora nos cuenta sobre el lugar donde nació, su familia, su infancia. Describe sus veranos, cuando toda la familia se desplazaba durante meses para la caza del guanaco. Cuenta algunas otras pequeñas anécdotas. En esta sesión el concepto de documentación y la importancia del trabajo aún estaban poco claros para Dora, también en la práctica. La lengua, entonces, es usada solo después de mucho insistir y por un cierto momento. Hacia el final de la grabación prácticamente se habla solo en castellano. Este primer archivo no contiene filmaciones, ya que Dora todavía se oponía. Sólo aceptó que la filmáramos tres sesiones después, cuando le mostramos el resultado y pudo entender qué es lo que buscábamos, y por qué lo hacíamos. This is the introduction to the collection. We are in Dora Manchado’s kitchen after lunch having tea. Dora talks about the place where she was born, her family, her childhood. She describes her summers when the whole family traveled for months to hunt the guanaco. She tells some other little anecdotes. In this session, the concept of documentation and the importance of the work were still unclear. The practice was not clear either since it had not yet become a routine. The language, then, is used only after much insistence and only for a certain period of time. Towards the end of the recording, we almost speaking only in Spanish. This first archive does not contain footage since Dora was still against it. She only agreed on being filmed three sessions later, when we showed her the results of our work and she could understand what we were looking for, and why we were doing it. | |
