Description: | Part of a scene involving an encounter between two of the five characters of the Achi Lhamo: Nyapa and Lhamu. Nyapa is on a quest to get the magic jewel Norbu Gode Bomchung from Lhamu, the water god/spirit, who lives in the tsochen (big lake) called Pema Lhajom (Lazom?). Lhamu sings this song in praise of the jewel, insisting in the face of Nyapa’s scepticism that what he possesses is in fact the Norbu Gode Bomchung and no fake. See accompanying Field Notes. | |
