Description:The speaker says that the Okiek never kept sheep until they started trading honey for sheep with the Maasai. They found that the sheep helped raise fees for their children and the fat extracted useful for expectant mothers. This is why they rear sheep up to today.
Jane Oduor is the Okiek language documentor.
Patrick works within the Okiek community as a social worker and community mobilizer. In this project he also assisted in community mobilization, video recording, translating and annotating.
