Description: | The speaker introduces his family/clan and others they were living with. He then goes on to say how a murder dispute was resolved. He also narrates how dogs caught wild animals and how the meat was divided. He also says how children were precious beings to be looked after. He gives an illustration of how visitors were treated as they spent the night with elders. He concludes by saying how they were united and only dispersed when marrying. They made sure that the lady being married was not a taboo. | |

Joel organised with the administration of Tiritagoi Primary School where he teachers to allow us to use the School for training the Okiek Language team the techniques of language documentation. This narrative was recorded during the that training session. | ||
Patrick works within the Okiek community as a social worker and community mobilizer. In this project he also assisted in community mobilization, video recording, translating and annotating. | ||
Simon Konana Konini is a respected community elder who took who participated in many documentation sessions. He is the narrator of the story in the second session (okiek_Narratives002). | ||
