Description:		English girl / the late Ann Lambton was a British historian and expert on medieval and early modern Persian history and language, and she was Professor of Persian at SOAS from 1953–79 . She wrote several books on subjects ranging of Persian language, land tenure and Iran history. She has several travel to Jowshaqan when she was working on his book ‘landlord and Peasant in Persia’ (1951) and before that published a book on some Iranian dialects (1938) including Jowshaqani. Most of Old Jowshaqani speakers remember her, and they knew her as dot-e Engelisi “English girl”.
