Description: | This is an audio recording of a traditional song performed by several Abom clanspeople. The song is about two brothers, urging them to be careful because the bush that they are in does not belong to them (Abom people). They will search for women with small eyes in this land with the creek. The song asks, 'Fly River people, why do you feel sorry for us? This is good according to our own ways.' The recording was made at the elementary school in Tapila. Transcription, translation, and discussion of individual word glosses were done by hand in a field notebook, and later entered into ELAN. | |
