Tokmashev, one of the main Teleut speaker of this project and tells about how our world was created and the opposition of the God and the Devil, who are perceived through the prism of traditional Teleut beliefs and ideas. The story represents a mix of Bible and vernacular motifs in the cosmogony of Teleuts and other Turkic peoples of South Siberia and may be of great interest not only to linguists but also anthropologists and folklore researchers.
