Description: | These are twenty children's stories, narrated by Nima, Düva, Kejang and Ruchon (Ĝutsoñ) to the children of Buragaon. The recordings show children listening with varied degrees of concentration. Most of these stories have been handed down from generation to generation for entertaining children. Düva tells some stories that are from the general Indian tradition - he possibly having learnt these as a child during his education in Assamese medium schools. Few people can recall the Aka traditional children's stories nowadays. Some stories are violent, but we have gathered them as narrated without trying to control their contents. It is up to the Hrusso Aka people to decide what to do with them! Recording Conditions: Video: Redorded with Canon XA20, settings - Auto. Audio: Very noisyt village surroundings; indoors. Cicada noise in the background. Micropone: Superlux S502 stereo cardioid condenser microphone. Audio recorded directly on Canon XA20 video camera using XLR inputs and extracted later using Any Video Coverter software. Phantom power: 48V external supply with Millennium phantom power adapter. Recording Specs: Stereo, 48000 Hz, 32 bit float. | |
