Description:Wonzhelo Yiibzhi first performs a lyre song in the kaldi baaba-rhythm (File 001) and another one in the baac'a-rhythm (File 002) - both songs are good examples of the typical cheers (shéékitts) that accompany the autobiographical praise songs. File 003 is a performance of a song accompanied by a plucked lyre, the title given is d'úúdígná - the rhythm was later identified as bambane by Wondu Sooddo. File 004 is a lyre song entitle Addisaabi lukkanda 'I am going to travel to Addis Ababa'. File 005 shows a shepherd song played on a little instrument called biilím, a little flute that is made from the neck of a gourd (or alternatively from a small piece of bamboo). File 008 demonstrates a call across long distances on an instrument called díha, a small ball-like clay flute with one opening to blow and two holes for thumb and index finger (also known ocarina in the musicological literature) (see photo linked to this session). File 007 is a performance of a narrative song accompanied by the lyre, it tells the story of the dogád ('civet cat').
