Description: | This is a folk story narration by Bichi Sangcho. She narrates the story of the 'tokapu', the traditional necklace made of one-rupee currency coins. Recorded outside St. Berchmans' School, Thrizino. Fairly quiet village surroundings; outdoors. Micropones: Audio Technica 803B lavalier omnidirectional condenser microphones - 2, one for each stereo channel, both attached to speaker's collar. Recorded on Marantz PMD 661 MK2 solid state recorder, Recording Specs: Sample rate 48000 Hz, 32 bit float. Daughter of Atuĝam Sidisow, married to Sancha Sangcho, mother to 6 children (2 of whom are living): Lupa Sangcho, and Sita Rahman, grandmother of Vivek 'Abu' and Mareena Sangcho. Known as 'Binota'. Elder sister of the present MLA, Kumsi Sidisow. Original village: Jamiri (after her ancestors' migration from Dijangania), moved after marriage to Thrizino. | ||
Born in Karnataka, India. Working in Northeast India as a Jesuit since 1999. Involved with Hrusso Aka orthography development and language support since 1999, having learned the language at Palizi while teaching. Currently doing a DPhil (PhD) in linguistics at the University of Oxford, UK (Thesis: A Grammar of Hrusso Aka). Founder and leader of the Hrusso Literature Team, formed in 2017. | ||
Son of Amita and Lupa Sangcho. Grandson of Bichi Sangcho. Miji by birth, but born and brought up at Thrizino. Grew up speaking Arunachali Hindi as a first language. Very fluent in English. Semi-fluent in Hrusso Aka. | ||
Married to Bontŝe Aglasow, brother of the Headman fo Gijiri, the father of 7 children. Original village: Gijiri | ||
Son of Kalo and Abamei (née Sakrinsow) Jabasow. Miji by birth, but born and brought up in Thrizino, speaking Hrusso as his mother tongue. Mother is Hrusso; Father is Miji, but bilingual in Miji and Aka. 'Jabasow' is a Hrusso version of the Miji surname 'Jabowju'. | ||
