Description:		In this video, the initiates who have emerged from their healing hut are dancing to celebrate their success of having undergone initiation without a hitch. They are dressed in traditional ceremonial attire including the gorosioth (mask) to conseacl their identity, simaboi (hide skirt and vest) and colourful sisal skirts on the outside. As a sign of modernity complementing tradition, the gorosioth is further decorated with balloons and some initiates carry hockey sticks and whips in place of traditional walking sticks. Villagers and onlookers are free to join the dance and relatives summon the initiates to the sidelines using nicknames that the boys have adopted in their healing hut. These nicknames are communicated earlier to the relatives by the muthirioth who guard the initiates in their hut round the clock to enforce discipline. The initiates are then served soda and sweets as token gifts to appreciate their bravery.
