Description: | Women of Buragaon come together outside a friend's house to help her in dehusking paddy. This used to be a common scene in Hrusso Aka villages before the advent of the government-sold 'cooperative rice'. After Delu Sapon, a main consultant gives a brief introduction and obtains consent, the women get to work, pounding paddy and engaged in spontaneous conversation. After pounding the paddy rice is winnowed and separated into different categories for the consumption of humans and chickens. | |
